<div dir="ltr">Hi devs,<div><br></div><div>As you may have just seen, we've just released the first beta of GROMACS 5.0. Many thanks for all your hard work, coding, reviewing and testing!</div><div><br></div><div>There's a number of features still to complete, so we hope to do another beta as a Christmas present ;-) Code not yet present in gerrit has an extremely low chance of making it into 5.0, but 5.1 won't be a year away (TBD).</div>
<div><br></div><div>Then, by about the end of the first week of January there will be a hard freeze on 5.0 - no new features, and only bug fixes and documentation. We need that stability to do hard-core testing of correctness and speed before the final release. At about that time there will be a release-5-0 branch that splits off for the bug fixes.</div>
