For GROMACS itself there is no real special needs in terms of the
graphics card. Where that becomes important is when you are using a
visualisation program to then view the trajectory. So the best idea
is to talk to the suppliers/writers of the visualisation software that
you are going to use to find out the best option.<br><br>
Personally I use VMD and have a workstation on its way with a ATI FireGL
X1 256M. If you use VMD, check their emailing list, several
discussions have occurred on the types of graphics cards to
use.<br><br>
Scaling with the current version of GROMACS between computers is not the
best, even when high speed networks are used. So to be the most
efficient a multi CPU motherboard is the way to go.<br><br>
